How Partnership Projects are selected
Partnership projects are chosen based on the following criteria

— Community support for protection.
— Involvement of at least three organizations in the project.
— Connectivity to or between existing protected lands.
— Ecological significance: important habitats, ecosystems, water
resources, uncommon natural communities, critical soils, unique
geology and landforms.
— Cultural significance: historic value, scenic value, working land
value, and recreational use or potential.
— Feasibility of implementation: available resources, and consistency with objectives of other Partnership groups.

Endorsement of a project by the Partnership helps focus financial, political and scientific resources of the Partnership members, increasing the likelihood of successful land protection.

If you would like the Partnership to consider endorsing a project, first review the criteria to make sure your project is a good fit. Next, download and complete the information requested in the Parcel Project Application. The Partnership steering committee meets monthly to consider new open space preservation initiatives.
